↓ The project’s core challenge was to merge three platforms, each with different purposes and user profiles:

  1. Institutional Website: A dense repository of statutes, regulations and legal documents, also with an news section. This website already existed when I joined the OERN´s team back in 2017.

  2. Training & Courses: A plaform dedicated to professional development and courses registration. UX and UI strategy were conducted by me.

  3. News & Updates: A channel for communicating with members about ongoing activities in the engineering world. Also UX and UI were conducted by me.

These platforms operated independently and offered fragmented experiences. The redesign aimed to create a seamless, intuitive interface that could serve all these functions in one centralized digital environment.

The challenge was to bring together these platforms into a single, unified site, one that could support technical content, complex navigation, and everyday usability for a broad range of users. The audiences were equally diverse: from senior engineers accustomed to straightforward, functional interfaces to younger professionals expecting modern interaction patterns and visual clarity.

The Communication team and I led design strategy and coordination for the new OERN website, aligning multiple departments and real users through briefing sessions and research. With a shared roadmap in place, I created a phased timeline to keep all stakeholders engaged and informed.

↑ → Through UX research and content analysis, our team identified key friction points across the old platforms. Using Adobe XD, I designed responsive prototypes based on best practices in accessibility, hierarchy, and inclusive design. This tool was crucial to share with stakeholders the usability of the project.

The process was fully collaborative, with feedback integrated at every stage. The final result is a streamlined and unified platform that reflects OERN’s brand and supports the daily needs of its diverse engineering community.

↓ The result was a coherent, responsive, and streamlined platform that reflects the OERN brand, supports its day-to-day operations, and meets the needs of its diverse audiences. The outcome was shaped by continuous input from internal and external stakeholders, combined with a clearly defined, phased timeline that guided the entire process. I also designed the launch campaign, ensuring a consistent and engaging rollout across all communication channels.
